Power Metal greats

Edguy, despite the shocking name.

I bought cd once which came with a Nuclear Blast catalogue. I looked through it and said Edguy. I  my assed off for a while, until I saw the band right next to them. "Farmer Boys"

Yes....the south has just invaded. Cow bell production has tripled in the past 2 years.

oh my gosh I am SICK and tired of hearing about Dragonforce. Dragonfroce is the only band I know that can rip off one of their own riffs. How the f**k do you even begin to suck that bad and reach the top at the same time? It's like a gay porno with a neverending solo.

Because Sonic Firestorm is a classic (as in would be classic, it is a pretty recent album). Have you actually listened to it? Plus it is good to bring some new power metal albums to the table.

I own the damn album. I was into dragonforce for about three months until I finally saw the light. It shined brighter than the heavens. It blinded me and made me weak. I layed there, sobbing silently, in the middle of my room. Regreting I ever even heard the name......Dragonforce.....

:Smug:

Whatever, it is still a good example of newer age power metal with newer influences.

Children of Bodom (Early)

?..

Dude, early Children of Bodom is more melodic black than anything. There's little, if anything, about their demos through Hatebreeder that suggests power metal.

While we're on the subject of Dragonforce.. I personally like them; not the best power metal band, and their solos are a mockery (especially live), but they have some quality songwriting on Valley of the Damned and much of Sonic Firestorm. Inhuman Rampage isn't technically bad when listening to an individual song, but there's about as much musical diversity as a group of inbred chickens. It lacks the structure and focus that are essential elements of metal. There's something wrong when you can't remember even a fraction of guitar parts from an album. They started out relatively good, but they're burning out fast.

You, sir, are wrong. Just because the songs aren't about pansies and sucking cox, and the vocals aren't all pretty and flowery does not mean it's NOT power metal.

It's just power metal with harsh vocals.
