I'm just not into nwobhm or most traditional metal in general.

Your missing out on alot if your not into classic metal... but anyways try Live After Death to get a feel for Maiden up to the Powerslave album... Doesn't have songs from Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son but that's ok... all songs on Live After Death are excellent and they play it live even better then on record... the lead guitars and harmonies especially...
