I found it astounding, of course it is my first Firewind album before Apollo I was uninterested in the band (and frankly I'm not into the back catalogue, but maybe PPVIII will change my mind), and I have it high on my top ten 2006, so for me was good news.

I have read great stuff about that release. I actually really enjoyed "Forged by Fire" as well, but I am a big Chity fan. No matter how good the release is, I bet I will miss Chity on vocals.

Their last album before allgience , Forged by fire kicked major ass. I come back to it all the time.

Allegience is the only one I've heard and only had a few weeks now. I think it's very good. It's got some really good songwriting in it. Obviously I can't compare to earlier releases since I haven't heard them.

Allegience won't make my top ten this year, but I think it will get an honorable mention.

For that style of metal, I actually prefer Evergrace to Firewind (by a slight margin). Evergrace won't reach my top ten either though. Not my fave genre. I have three honorable mentions in melodic power metal, and it's Evergrace, Firewind and Cloudscape.

Meanwhile, Edguy's Rocket Ride still keeps kicking my ass in that genre! Still hanging onto my top ten...barely.

This release has received rave reviews, so I will buy it and very soon. If I don't miss Chity's vox, then this will be one hell of a disc then. Chity sang on one of my top twenty discs of all-time, so I hold him in special regard.
