just listened to glory tonight through the japanese fansite and it sounds a bit weird, mainly cos vocals are in a lower key (at least to my untrained ears) than the studio release. Also weird hearing JP singing that low

It's not.
You might be thinking of a later release.
As my memory goes - (mind that this was close, if not over, six years ago)
it was around the time DragonHeart was either recording VotD or their own Demo CD but this was what I got from ZP.
This is about as original as you get

It's just that on the japanese PQ site given further up the thread they listed Gates of Tomorrow as the last track on the album, but they could be wrong i guess!

As well as the demo, there was also the CD available through mp3.com while it was still free etc this had the demo tracks + gates of tomorrow
