Pro Tools 9

How well does the VST to RTAS wrapper work with the free amp sims from LePou, Nick Crow, onqel etc.?

Wondering whether I can do pre-production straight into PT (dream come true in terms of saving time!).

Interested to know this too. Also if LePou's IR loader works well, or is there a good, free RTAS impulse loader?

what's next?

a collaboration between AVID and Stienberg to create a format which works on both Cubase and Pro Tools?

that will be awesome....

Thanks for the FAQ. I think all this upgrading stuff is strange, nevertheless.
PT9 Crossgrade from LE: $249
PT9 Crossgrade from M: $349
Complete Production Toolkit2 Crossgrade from DV Toolkit -> $299
Complete Production Toolkit2 Crossgrade from CPToolkit 1 -> free

So this means if you buy: ((hardware prices are european))
PT9 alone you'll pay 430€
Mbox2Mini and the Upgrade to PT9 -> 448 €
Mbox2Micro and Crossgrade to PT9 -> 409€
Hell even Mbox3 + Crossgrade PT9 -> 509€

PT9 alone + CompleteProduction Toolkit 2 -> 1860 €
Mbox2Mini + DV Toolkit + DV Crossgrade to CPT2 + Crossgrade PT9 = 1761 €

(Downloadversions from sweetwater for PT9/Crossgrade and CPT2 Crossgrade for the Europeans, otherwise you pay a lot more)
The shitty thing is, I want the new iLok and i basically don't need a second, portable interface. Especially no crappy Mbox2.
The cheapest PT9 software only but as a hardcopy and the iLok is 570€ without shipping. Shit.

All you need to do is find anyone selling a discounted LE interface, you can then just crossgrade through Avid for $249. It's not really a Sweetwater special bundle or anything, just something they noticed and decided to advertise haha...

Cheers Adam. I think I'll hold off until the new year to see what new hardware bundles Avid or M-Audio will introduce.

Well after a full reinstall of win 7 64-bit i managed to get PT9 to work!! whoop. However, i get frequent BSOD's appearing, now this could be due to a memory issue i rekon. As im still on a Core2Duo OC'd to 2.93 (from 2.13) with 4 gig ram, with overclocked timings, and i think thats where i need to read up on more as theres some settings as i havent touched.
