Pro Tools 9

lol what the..?
I hope this wasn't just some asshole's joke. I clicked immediately after you posted the link and they were like
trollface.gif

Probably some asshole ordered it 100 times in order to sell it for 300 or something. Actually this would've been a good idea. ;)

Wow, those went fast. I swear they were available when I tried if the link works right after I posted it. This is the e-mail I got:

Pro Tools 9 - Low $199.00 Deal
We have managed to get a few copies of Pro Tools 9.0 for the silly price of $199, when they are gone then they are gone at very limited quantity.

EDIT: Oh, sorry, does Paypal show if the item is available only on checkout? I didn't proceed that far because there's not enough balance on my PayPal anyway.

I might snag PT M-powered just to crossgrade :l

Actually, it compensates more to just buy PT9 ... bleh : (
Imho buying a used Mbox2Mini or Micro is cheaper. I learned today that the Mbox series come with PT LE and not M-Powered..
which would have been somehow logical. But I guess this is not Logic but ProTools :D

Personally, I really want the PT boxed version, with a real manual and especially the iLok2.
With the new iLok I will finally be able to use more than one freaking USB port on my MBP, heh.

Are you sure PT9 comes with a paper manual? My M-Powered 8 didn't :/

I'm not shure, but it says "Installationshandbuch" and "PT-Einführungshandbuch" on the german AVID website.
"Handbuch" (handbook/manual) is usually used for an actual book and not PDFs, but they could be trying to fool us.
You're probably right :bah:
I like to have the actual boxes in my room, nevertheless. And I've got the shittiest internet connection known to mankind at my new studio, so the DVDs will certainly come in handy.

I hear ya, I love having a real manual at hand. That's why I originally bought 8 boxed, and the bastards fooled me.

EDIT: No, wait, I actually bought M-Powered 7.

editing with elastic audio is really easier/better for you than slipping around in cubase? how about for editing guitar DIs?

DI's edited with EA:

These guitars were tracked VERY sloppy and quickly, too, and then reamped by harvey.

edit: whoa, sorry. way late with this. was relevant like 5 pages ago i think? haha

don't forget the general sexy-ness of a new platform, either. They've boasted how much of the fundamental codebase was re-built from the ground up...you may also notice performance enhancements, added stability, bug fixes, lots of little things that don't get heavily advertised, and the satisfaction of having the newest and sexy new interface to look at.

NEVERMIND, DOESN'T WORK.
I'm really interested in buying a PT HD7/8 iLok license. There are a few guys selling theirs.. You can upgrade to PT HD 9 benefitting from it's features except those connected to the dsp cards of course. But I'm not shure if it would work 100% or if Avid will prevent those versions from working somehow.

But you get basically PT9+CPT2 for A LOT less money. Besides, it's cool to start ProToolsHD 9 and not ProTools 9

Ah shit, it doesn't work because you need the serial of a HD core card.
