I'm confused. does PT9 come with X-Form?

I really want this. I don't want to have to pay extra for it.

edit: looks like its' only on the toolkit... LAME.

doesn't LE 8 come with it???

maybe I won't pick this up after all. Half or more of the reason I was gonna pick this up was for that delicious elastic audio editing.

bleh.

You dont need X-Form to use elastic audio, or do you know this and you are not doing a very good job of explaining what you are saying?

The X-Form plugin is part of the Complete Production Toolkit 2, but I think "rendered only" X-Form is still in PT9... With the CPTK2 you can use X-Form for all of your TCE editing, whereas in regular PT9 it is only available as a rendered elastic audio option. There are also much more parameters in the "full" X-Form.

In M-Powered for example:

...and the full parameter set:

Word to the wise to Mac users - PT9 doesn't like SoundFlower. Not sure if anyone else is using SoundFlower (it lets you do powerful, customizable audio routing between apps, useful in obscure geeky/developer situations) - but if you are, and want to use PT9, simply download the latest SoundFlower installer, run it, then run the included uninstaller, this will ensure that all traces of it are removed.

The bug as I experienced it - I couldn't get my Apogee Duet to show up in PT on my MacBook Pro until I uninstalled SoundFlower. Otherwise, PT9 wants to see SoundFlower as your sole audio interface, which means that you have literally no sound I/O. :Spin:

PT9 is rocking over here and I already have the Recabinet 3 plugin beta working in it without a hitch. More news about the plugin soon... we're getting close to a release announcement (finally.)

So... it seems to crash every time I try to import an mp3.

Seems a lot less stable/functional overall than 8.04 was.

Honestly I struggle to attribute the faults to my system. The version before this ran more or less great, and I've got Cubase running near flawlessly now. It feels like PT9 is still beta software.

Has anyone received their boxed upgrade copy? I ordered it minutes after it became available and they haven't even charged my account yet.

Ok here is a really nice mind fuck for you.
this has been happing for the past week
everytime I try to boot up PT9

Avid's solution?
Make a new user account on your computer and run pro tools through that one.
It worked. but seriously thats fucked.

Edit: Sorry for the huge ass picture. thought I fixed that, oh well

You're right, that is pretty fucked. It was the way I had to solve an issue with Cubase a while back too.

On Windows 7 it seems PT9 is beta software. Running into more bugs than I did playing New Vegas.
