What do you think for an entry level entry to pro tools? worth it?

You're better off getting a firepod or something...mbox's are terrible and way overpriced.

as far as an entry to pro tools its a bargain.

however the mbox aint the greatest interface, but you get what ya pay for

Its wicked for its price, but you should go for the mbox 2 standard, because you can record 2 channels simultaneous with that. And mboxs are awesome, the software is great. andyou can do nearly anything with that, here is something i recently recorded all through my mbox.

i'd get the mbox 2 but i don't have that kind of money unfortunately! i'm only gonna ever need to do 1 track at a time really, going to be using programmed drums for anything i do

I would say ok then, although (sure someone else will pipe in here) I would look for a used mbox 1. I hear the mic pre's are better (???) than the mbox2. I don't use pro tools so this is all here say.

actually your right, i have an mbox 1 at the moment. The mic pre's are apparently better (focusrite) but the mbox 2's more than make up with the newly improved a?d converters inside! and theyre cheap
