hey guys, the new lamb of god album was produced by a producer called "machine" anyone heard of this guy ? or know his real name ? i googled the hellout of me and just can't find the damn guy. anyone knows something more about him ?

thx

He produced (and engineered, iirc?) King Crimson's "The Power To Believe" a couple years ago. Not metal for the most part- though Level Five and Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With probably qualify- more like atonal industrial prog, but an absolutely amazing record nonetheless.

From the little I've heard, his work is very slick and modern sounding, very clear, and very dry.

His web site is http://www.themachineshop.org/

His discography seems to be mostly nu-metal stuff, aside from Crimson, Lamb Of God, and Clutch. Oh, and White Zombie. There's not much on the site, though, except for contact information and his discography.

I see an Apple Cinema Display, an Akai sampler, and a Reamp box sitting on one of his monitors in the pic on the main page...

Whatever Johnny Commercial... go hang out on "Machine"s forum then...

Plays it safe? Or do you mean, "doesnt produce shitty emo fuck all bands"?

Haha! "Ashes of the Wake" sucks.

Ashes of the Wake sucks?

If complete clarity of all guitars makes an album "suck" then, you'd be right... But in this case, you are wrong. Ashes of the Wake fucking kills. Top 10 of 2004.

agreed. that album fucking slays. the only metal record out last year that andy didnt touch that really blew me away sonically. i mean it sounds fucking huge. id like to hear machine get ahold of more really good bands and see what he can do. i bet itll all be good. id still like to hear lamb of god done sneap style though  .

Machine probably engineers and mixes some of the cleanest albums ever. Lamb Of God's 'Ashes Of The Wake' is incredible production wise (and musically). Every Time I Dies new one sounds great too. All of the cds he's involved with sound different, but they all have his touch. One of the best out there right now.

Just cause you dont like the bands doesnt mean the guy blows ...

LOG is ok in my book, i dont like the singer at all. But the guitar tone and clarity on what ive heard of the new cd is impressive.

Lets see what happens in the future with him.

Mabe one of the bands you DO like will do an album with him. Id like to see Nevermore with him, just too see what would happen.

Sneap doesnt really push the boundaries sonically imho, but he definitely gets the BEST performances out of musicians ive ever heard. He is definitely an EXTREME producer in his own way. Sonically his productions are EXTREMELY clean...

Im not raggin Andy in any way shape or form, personally if i could afford it he would be my producer of choice.

But this machine guy s really good aswell
