I wasn't there (sigh), but knowing your equipment and looking at the lighting and noise levels in the images, I can see that this was a challenging shoot. Outstanding and impressive work!

It reminds me a bit of one I took of Tommy from Seventh Wonder last year. Must be that smug sense of satisfaction that only performing at ProgPower can bring you.

I think they were both probably swallowing, or had pursed their lips, or perhaps starting to, or completing a smile, and you snapped those photos at just the right time. Regardless of what they were doing with their faces, it resulted in one hell of an expressive photo.
