prong?

Imagine riffs that drag you down to a korn-esque level, with synthesizers every now and then that stress the fact that they care little for the mechanics of music. Sometimes a line will sound cool, or I'll remember a riff, but not often enough for me to keep it in the CD player for more than a week after I have bought a cd, (only bought two). This stuff isn't so bad for a band that is mediocre, but what I really don't like about it is that the singer does this attempted growl that comes out as a whisper and makes the music just sound weak.

I actually like Prong quite a bit. I like their last two albums best, but I hear the reformed Prong is a return to their earlier sound (as in "Prove You Wrong"). They were good when I saw them live. I'm not sure how to describe them, and I don't really agree with TyrantofFlames... so check out some songs for yourself.
"Rude Awakening"
"Broken Peace"
"Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck"
"Prove You Wrong"
and so on...

prong was a great band some time back....they have varied in style from hard core to thrash, and more power metal in a way...really hard to describe their style, i think.....
i saw them live back in 94, with the "cleansing" album, it rocked like hell....
i know tommy victor liked to call their music "death disco" some time, and that is probably a nice description of the cleansing period. i think they lost their plot a bit with the rude awakening album, then they split up....
so now they are back on track???? who are in the band now, i have to check it out, because i know that both ted parsons (drums) and paul raven (bass) went on to join godflesh some time ago.....need to find out more about this reunion.....

best prong records for me: "beg to differ" and "prove you wrong"
