Even if you were just trying to piss someone off this is very true, actually it's how I view religious deities in general. Whether they were stories or not in the beginning is no longer relevant, they have been given life and impact by the people that chose to believe in them making them "real" in a rather crazy way.
Then again this is true too, I didn't even view this thread until tonight for this very reason. I got my angry debating out of my system between 11-20 years old. Now I just don't give a fuck what others believe as long as it doesn't affect me.
But does it really a matter if god is real or not? if muhammed or jesus have existed and walked upon this earth? The fact still remains that god and different prophets have had more impact on mankind and the western world than any real person has ever had. Almost everything we do and say in our society is marked by religion in some way and the fact that billions of people believe in this stuff is real and that is what I believe matters. I do not believe in god or the devil but religion is real. The impact of the bible and the quran in this world, the supposed words of god, are very real. So I would say that sure god may not exist in the same way as we do but still the thought of god exists, the supposed words of god exist, the followers of god exist but most importantly the result of god and his words and will exist in this world.
