I've never heard Alchemist, so I don't know if this is what you're looking for (and it probably isn't) but Voivod draws influence from bands like Pink Floyd (they have a great cover of Astronomy Domine)

Alchemist are pretty unique, i can't think of many other bands that share similar traits.

Enslaved certainly have a psychadelic/pink floyd feel to them on a lot of their tracks, particularly on their album 'Monumension', also I've always thought that the albums 'The Ruin Of Nova Roma' by Taint and 'The Second Philosophy' by Nahemah have a progressive/psychadelic feel to them.

Mithras is so goddamn good, Worlds Beyond The Veil is definitely an awesome atmospheric death album.

You mean their 3rd, as Forever Advancing...... Legions was their debut. It's also good, just not as atmospheric. Very brutal though.

Yeah I still like it, mainly for the drumming, but it doesn't draw me in for regular listening.

Psychotic Waltz. They are not as heavy and don't have death metal influences, but they are a great bands that kinda fits the psy/prog idea.

Sore Plexus might even be a closer fit.

Psykup is pretty cool.

They have a myspace page. They're sound like old school Faith No More Mike Patton Music combined with some jazz and funk.

Pretty crazy progressive...love them, but can only listen for so long before it wears out it's welcome. Very inventive and fresh sound though.
