quantizing real drums

Ive just started experiment with quantizing real drums

if there snare is a little off time and i move it to be right on the beat wont it still be heard out of time in the overheads?

you have to quantize the overheads too

Depending on what DAW you're using, go read the Reaper Slip Editing tutorial here. There's info on how to accomplish that type of editing in other DAWs if you're not using Reaper.

The others have already said it, but I will too - You have to move ALL of the drum tracks together.

you're getting confused, and i don't know what that feature is, but there's no quick&easy beat detective clone in cubase...especially not in LE.

search for a thread called "cubase slip edit tutorial" by 006. this is the only way you'll be able to easily edit drums and have it sound good. do not waste any more time trying to figure out a different way.

empty gaps are fine (to a degree) just crossfade the gaps
