queensryche almost done writing new album

I'm on board with Flavio and Marco. I think the post-Empire Queensyche was a completely different direction, and the departure of DeGarmo has to be a factor in that.

Empire was very much a DeGarmo record. If I remember correctly, Promised Land was a Tate affair (I think the RM's line notes say that?), and then HINTF was DeGarmo again.

HINTF just does nothing for me. Hit the Black was cool, but beyond that nothing else did much for me. Q2K had some great tunes (Breakdown, Right Side, Until There, Falling Down), and a couple of mediocre ones. It wasn't bad, but it was compared to the likes of Mindcrime.

QR needs a serious kick up the a$$ for me to enjoy them again. I mostly listen to the newer stuff out of respect but I can't say that I seriously enjoy then nowadays. Said kick worked for ACDC and Bon Jovi ... no excuse.

Not sure what kick for Jovi you mean, 2000 maybe? The latest Bon Jovi disc was terrible. I picked it up for $5, after Xmas sale. The single was decent enough so I figured "what the heck". Remember in the 90s doing that? Buying a CD because of an okay song and the rest just sucks? That's the new 'Jovi.

Speaking of which, those are two bands who could really use Peter Collins behind the producers desk again: Ryche and Jovi. Some of each band's best work was done with him (These Days is a masterpiece).

i bought the new bon jovi because it was so cheap ($7.99 at best buy). boy does it blow. i'd almost bet it would be ranked last in my list of 2009 releases. it had 2-3 good songs
