queensryche-american soldier

I'm really pleased with that set list. Can't wait to see it in a couple weeks.

Maiden could learn a thing or two when they put together their next "we're gonna play the entire album and bore fans for 90 minutes show".

For those that care here's the setlist from last night in Portland, OR.
Good show, I'll be seeing them again on Wedsnesday night.

The new guitarist is Parker Ludgren he's Tates son in law, the band also used the background vocalist/keyboardist from Geoff's solo band and his daughter for "Home Again" and the a drill sergent for "Sliver." Wilton now plays from stage left and played most of DeGarmo's solos.

i am so jealous. thats a crazy good setlist.i'm pissed they aren't coming to virginia at all. i'd love to hear "hand on heart" live. how did tates voice sound? did the american soldier songs sound good live? i hope the setlist is a little different for you this wednesday

Never liked Quite Riot

Killer set list, they played either I Dream In Infrared or
Screaming In Digital at the last show I saw, and which ever song it is I never really liked it. I'd have to dig out my tape and listen through it to know which song it is. If I had to describe it I'd say it reminded me of Bowie. I'd love to see them perform Road to Madness but they are probably long ago sick of it.

I'm guessing the set will be identical, they might mix it up a little but who knows? The voice sounded good. They replicated the tracks off American Soldier to tye "t." Impressive, even if I'm not much of a fan of the album.

they played raods to madness about 5 years ago.

if i had to guess i'd say it was "screaming in digital". "i dream in infrared" is a rarely played tune and in fact this might be the first time they played it since the 80's. wikipedia says it was never played live which may be false but if its truen this is the first time they played it. well someone just updated wikipedia saying the first time it was played live was 2009 so i guess its true

well tate said every tune from those 3 albums will probably be played live at least 1 time on this tour so you might get "gonna get close to you", "killing words" or "another rainy night" which have all been played live in the last few years. maybe a different tune from american soldier. glad his voice was in good form

That he could, but his best perfromances came on Rehab. My god some of that shit gave me chills. Like the brilliant vocal duel with Glenn Hughes on "Evil Woman" and "Old Habits Die Hard" is spectacular....

for some odd reason people call that album a sellout album. i thought it was great and very 70's which quiet riot started in the 70's so...

Do you recommend this album ? I ever heard of them

Oh God Yes! If you like old Queensryche meets maybe Master of Puppoets, you can't go wrong. Easily in my top 3 albums ever. Brilliant production, Tony Mills is a dead ringer for Tate (different voice, but he can hit the same notes) and the guitar parts are all straight outta Degarmo/Wilton circa 1988.

So, Check out Siam - Prayer.

Just got back from the show in Anahiem, CA. The setlist was the exact same set list as in Portland, OR. I will catching Queensryche again on 4.23.09 @ House of Blues in San Diego. Jack Frost attended the show this evening, along with the new bass player and drummer in Seven Witches. They told me they are in L.A. recording the new album with James Rivera and they will be playing in L.A. on 4.23.09 @ The Knitting Factory! I wish I would have known...fuck. Catch Queensryche if you get the chance the "Rage," "Empire" stuff is off the hook...The American Soldier stuff sounds just like it does on the disc. They sounded better tonight than they did in Portland...

cool. i wish i could catch them on this tour but they aren't playing within 5 hours of me :erk: not worth driving more than 5 hours to see them. hopefully they'll change the setlist sometime. some of the better american soldier tunes aren't even being played
