Question about Borknagar

I was wondering what type of metal is Borknagar? Im curious they sound like blackmetal to me but others say different

Well in my opinion, different styles mix in Borknagar. I don't think you can categorize the music of Borknagar. Just listen to it

in my opinion Borknagar play a sort of epic-extreme metal now!!!

I don't think it's really a stretch to still call Borknagar black metal. Maybe that doesn't entirely sum them up, but it's still pretty well rooted in black metal. I think the "viking metal" tag that I've heard a lot give them is pretty dumb. Nordic metal would fit. But honest I think people are a little to concerned to sub-genre tags sometimes.
