Andy how do you get your guitars to "POP" out of the mix so strong?I seem to have a lot of separation in my mix, I just cant get the rythms to jump out.
Thanks O wise one...:kickass:

Rhythm guitars, if recorded well, seldom need anything more than a bit of EQ. It's both capturing a great sound from the amp, and equalizing it well afterwards.

8-10khz will give you a sort of airy brightness. 4-6k to give the guitars some edge. 1-2k will get them to stick out. Subtracting low-mids will make them sound more 3d and less boxy.

Just general guidelines of course. You just need to know what you're listening for and what you're trying to achieve. With rhythm guitars, the tone happens at the amp, not afterwards. You must capture a good sound to start with.

I just posted this in another thread here:
the best thing to happen to my tone since getting a tube amp was gettnig an overdrive pedal.

It really focuses the tone into the mids and tightens it up, which makes it sound alot more like the tones Andy gets (as opose to sounding lose and imperfect without it).
As well as focusing the tone, what it does to the attack of the guitar is just incredible.

What pedal did you end up getting?
