Question to the drinkers

I never spent sixty dollars on a shot. Sure there's "refined tastes" and all that, but there's also logical expenditure of money, and unless that particular shot of alcohol wanted to paint my house or keep my car running, wouldn't spend sixty dollars on it.
 
yeh. i meant your grow out of doing shots of the $8 half gallon of vodka (popov, potters, winners cup, etc). i still get drunk all the time, i just drink better stuff like captain morgan or better vodka like skyy or something. im not dropping $60 a shot or anything, but im not gonna bother with anything of total shit quality. bad liquor gives you hangovers.
 
Well yeah, of course, only losers drink Taaka and Royal Gate. I just meant that when you get down to it, the purpose of drinking alcohol is to get drunk, not be all elite and stylish drinking 60-a-shot tequila. People who do that bullshit regularly are the same people who read the wine section in newspapers, and if they listened to metal they'd go up front just to stand there with their arms crossed and get pissed at anyone who bumps into them or headbangs distractingly.

Oh, and I still need to try Captain Morgan. If my friend's store is open, I will tonight. Whaddya suggest as a chaser/mixer?
 
captain morgan (dark not silver) goes with just about everything. coke, vanilla coke, dr pepper, (and their generic equivilents) cream soda, and orange soda are all really good in a cocktail. i dont like capn shots very much, but i dont like shots in general so i dunno. any of those above would be a good chaser.

anyways, I agree with neal, i wouldn't spend 60$ a shot, but I wont buy Vodka-5 (thats what I call the Vodka that costs 5 bucks) ...
Good drinks are better in so many ways.
hell, we have to sit in a bar and drink, all of us, one day.
 
I'd be up for it. If we all meet one day we should all get drunk and do drunk stuff like sing irish tunes and complain about the english. :P
 
As an Irish man, i've been drinking my whole life. Funny thing is, I just turned 21 six months ago. Anyway, why has there only been one Jager reference? Jager rules! So does BarenJager(honey flavored Jagermeister). Nowadays I like to have a few shots and then just drink beers for the remainder of the night. That seems to be the way to go for me.

I must say that after several(hundred) hangovers, i've learned to drink the smart way. I make sure to supplement roughly 800mg Calcium Carbonate and 100mg of Thiamin along with a meal that wont fuck up my stomach too bad before I binge. Since using this method, I haven't had any hangovers and this includes times when i've drank roughly a half bottle of Jager and a few beers along with it.
