R.e.m?

I got given R.E.M. greatest hits for christmas from my parents, which was a suprise to be quite fair, and I didn't think I'd like them. But I've given it a couple of listens and it's pretty good. Not many people like them, so I've heard. Any takers?

They have some very good songs, with excellent lyrics, I just cant listen to a whole cd of theirs without getting very bored. I think it is safe to say they are one of the best alt bans ever. And they arent corporate or anything despite their great success.

I've always liked R.E.M. The only song that was a bit too cheesy for me is that "Shiny Happy People Holding Hands" song. I think even Hansi from Blind Guardian's heard that one too many times. I always hear about him at live shows saying "It's good to see all of your shiny happy faces." Just shut up and play Nightfall, LOL!
