Here's the band I've been working with. I'm about 90% done mixing myself, but I thought I'd let you all have at it as well.

There's a readme text file explaining everything.

Here are the files. (update, dropbox shut me down! This link should be up by 6:30pm EST, sorry!)

Here's my most recent mix.

Thanks!

I look forward to new perspectives because I've been listening to mine for too long!

Looking forward to hearing it. I tried to be as organized as possible on the export, but let me know if you have any problems.

Their singer is solid. I hardly tuned anything. My biggest complaint would be the DI's might be a little dull because their guitar players weren't keen on new strings/setups.

man, that lead line running through the whole song gets on my nerves, it's way too obnoxious. Solid southern flavored rock song, though. I think it would be better if a lot of the lead lines were cut out except for the obvious guitar solo sections. It's also painfully out of tune sometimes. Also, this song would be well served if they edited it down to a succint three minute rock song. Way too long for the content contained IMHO.

Here is my go without the other toms (?). The guitar is MUCH rounder than the other versions. TO me this song calls for the blanket-y Mesa Recto type tone, not so much a modern hi gain tone, thus my choice for reduced high mids and highs...But maybe it was too much....I also muted the lead line, as I felt it hurt the song more than it helped. Not happy with the lead tones, but meh, I used amp sims...

Probably too much low end as well...I mixed and mastered at barely around whisper volumes after the first 10 minutes, lol.

EDIT
OK, listening on phones and there are a lot of problems with my mix...oh well.
