I just got approved for vacation time from March 1st through the 5th! Badass. Florida, here I come! :kickass:

Im stuck here, with no vacations since August and none until at least end of May

Simon aint laughing, nuh huh.

At least I shall grab a promotion in the process, and, guess what everybody, Im soon to be the proud owner of a rather large condominium :D

I'm a student so I just take holidays when I want I guess...

Well I don't really do apart from to go and see Sir Tagtgren live actually, missing 4 hours to go and see Hypocrisy this weekend and the missing nearly a whole week (10 hours...) in march to go and see them in Sweden. And last time I missed uni was to see Pain back in 2008...

Haven't had a real holiday in 3 years :zombie:... but this year is the year I will have one.
Starting new studies next week as well, so looking forward to that.

We had an icestorm yesterday, so I spent a good 20 min breaking the ice off of my car. It's slick as hell on street I live off of. Hopefully the weather holds up for my trip to MN this weekend.

Whats do you guys think about this:

Metal Britannia: Is Heavy Metal Your Religion?

Get all the details on how you can join our world metal peace ambassador Biff Byford in defending the faith in the best way possible – by making ‘heavy metal’ a recognised religion in the UK!
Are you a defender of the faith? Do you throw the horns more often than you put your hands together? Then you’ll want to get in on Metal Hammer’s Metal Britannia campaign to let the powers that be know it.

In the census of 2001, over 390,000 people stated that their religion was ‘Jedi’ on their census forms, making the fictional Stars Wars creed the fourth-biggest religion in the UK. With your help, we want to give metal the recognition it deserves by getting it acknowledged as a religion in the UK!
Over the next year, Metal Hammer, with the help of Saxon’s Biff Byford acting as our very own world metal peace ambassador, will be saluting the UK’s rich heavy metal heritage, selecting a different town or city each month and celebrating its sterling contribution to our beloved music and culture.
“Metal was created here so it must be in the gene pool in the UK, I think!” says Biff. “In the early 80s there was a huge number of great bands and we were all part of the same club, whatever we called ourselves, whether it was heavy rock, rock’n’roll or heavy metal, it made no difference. There was just this huge following of over a million people in the UK and now it’s happening all over again! Getting heavy metal recognised as a religion is a great bit of rebellion, isn’t it? This really is going to be a very cool thing.”

Which bands and musicians do you think are worthy of prestigious positions within the Church Of Heavy Metal? And which towns or cities or other places do you think we should honour as integral parts of Metal Britannia over the coming months? Let us know by emailing us at metalbritannia@metalhammer.co.uk.

to be honest, what do we care?
it may happen or not, I couldnt give a damn, besides, the whole Jedi thing is beyond ridiculous, so would the metal religion be

Im sorry, but God doesnt exist, and if he does exist, he his NOT a giant V guitar floating around in the sky full of fire and hair

:)

That is retarded. If I were to ever claim metal as my religion, it would be in joking terms. Why do people want to ruin metal by attaching the term 'religion' to it?

You're seeing religion as ehmm religion! As something bad, to blindly follow something wich isn't real.

BUT Heavy Metal IS real and is a lifestyle on his own and could very well be a religion in the sense that it brings people together in a good way.
I think the idea is good, we just have to wait and see how they execute it, before you judge it.

I dont need to actually WAIT for it to unfold as its already notoriously known that religion has brought more suffering than anything else.

I understand what you mean, metal IS a religion for me in a way, I worship music, but why would we actually need this ''religion'' to be acknowledged by the masses as an official religion? It would only bring crap to the table, controversy, corruption, gayness, just like religion always does.

Well,if metal is a religion then tehno, rap, beduin music,or bahamian folk music should be a religions too.Why not?If metal can so can they.
We should have our metal priests, and we should go to church every week and act like trve believers.

.

Metal isnt a lifestyle for me.Its just a music i listen to.A lot.I dont look like a metalhead,i like fancy clothes and high heels.Metal is musical genre like all other genres and nothing else. Most metalheads are already too busy with kvlt and trve fights on the internetz so they could do something together.
