It's because metal is such a matcho culture, metal fans think that music should only be done by men. Womens job is perhaps sometimes sing in a band and look pretty or be a groupie...I believe that is the main reason of the sausage party, when opeth had their breakthrough most of their original fans abandoned them and they were replaced with the roadrunner fanbase.
