I watched a kiss documentary yesterday, damn I never realised how much of kiss wanna be's immortal are untill I saw some of the earlier kiss footage.

There are clips from the Japansese metal band, The Black Mages, founded by Squaresoft (now SquareEnix) composer Uematsu Nobou as a way to turn his Final Fantasy songs into (mainly) instrumental progressive metal songs.

Uematsu plays the synth-keyboards in the band and has occasionally employed singers for some of their songs (Like Mister Goo for The Skies Above). The music also melds but in with it's more orchestral origins and The Black Mages have made appearances with orchestras playing songs from the Squaresoft catalogue (which is now a regular and well known concert set in Japan and even here in Australia).

The Black Mages will have their their 3rd album, Darkness & Starlight, out on the 19th of this month through Sony Records.
Hope that it reaches here.
