rare prog from early 70s

I haven't been following the course of this thread, so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned. I'm just wondering whether any of you have heard any material from late 70's/early 80's band 'Leb i sol'? They were an outfit from Macedonia who played prog rock with a mixture of Macedonian folk overtones.

hello moonlapse. nice to see you in this thread.

your topic matter is quite welcome for 2 reasons.

A) the band has never been mentioned yet...
B) ive never heard of them...so i will try to check them out.

im not familiar with all the 80s progressive bands actually, so that explains probably why im not familiar for the most part...but if you say theyre good then ill give them a good shot.

mh, just dunno if anyone cares but i got sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band yesterday.
i knew most of it already since my parents got the vinyl but yes, it rulez...nice music.
mikael mentioned the piano-hit some post here and there's also a part on the cd which really reminds me of the 3/4 clean part in BTPISIO (also refered to as the circus part).
very interesting

of course i care.

what youre holding is one of the most important and influential rock albums of all time. and furthermore helped inspire thousands of bands, as well as helped pioneer the progressive rock genre along with bands like the moody blues, king crimson, traffic, family and procol harum, etc. Im glad you like it...its a shame when people dont i think.

i basically am not able to judge wether it was/is that influential or not. i surely wouldnt buy an album because it was/is influential but this one just rules :). i think fixing a hole is my fave so far on it...

bump.

upon looking through the linda perhacs cd reissue booklet this morning, i read something i hadnt noticed before.

the label the reissue is from, has a "thanks to:" list and in that list are the following names:

Steven Wilson
Stefan Dimle
Reine Fiske
Peter Lindgren
Peter Nordins
and Mikael Akerfeldt
among others...

I was kinda taken back, for i never expected to see most of those names in there, and am curious as to why exactly theyre in there. Im a big fan of Linda's all those musicians' music and am aware that all of them are fans of her work as well, but cant quite figure out what action they had in the cd reissue to get their names mentioned in the booklet, for it doesnt specify.

I emailed stefan to ask him about it, hopefully he will get back to me soon with the answer...ill be sure to post it here.

im not sure if anyone cares about this, or is a fan of her music, but if so...had you ever noticed this before?

Hi guys,

After reading some of this thread, I've come to the conclusion that I would like to get into some Nektar. My question is: which of their albums would you recommend me?

Thanks in advance.

I've been planning to get "Remember the future" for a couple of months now, and recently came the italians who'll keep me busy for years to come. On mail-order:

PFM - Per Un Amico
PFM - L'isola di Niente
Banco - Io Sono Nato Libero
Quella Vecchia Locanda - Il Tempo Della Giogia

I'll try to include your suggestion "Locanda Delle Fate" next time, Joey. I've heard "Forse la Lucciole" and it sounds terrific. Can't wait to hear more of Museo Rosenbach and Picchio dal Pozzo either.

Got some Jean Micheal Jarre last week, really remindes me of the atmospherics on Wish you were here, and sounds like it inspired about every techno grou;p today.

Hey Hey, My My
this thread is never die
cuz rock and roll is here to stay.

since the beatles influenced many bands like these for years to come, and still are, it wouldn't be off topic for me to say that I'm going to watch the Yellow Submarine movie. If you're a Beatles fan, and haven't seen it, do so, it's really cool, and trippy like.
