Here are two tracks i'm working on:

http://www.mediafire.com/?8bhvvotdmre
http://www.mediafire.com/?1ntfejb4smx

Most of guitars were first takes so the playing is pretty sloppy... i'm still in the process of writing and arranging the songs. Once that is done i will probably re-record the guitar parts.

All the guitars were recorded direct-in with an mbox2 and amplitube 2 for tone.

Drums were done with DFH Superior

What can be done to improve my guitar tone? Would a better interface help? I recorded some direct-in demos at my friends home studio and he had an apogee ensemble, which sounded FAR better than the mbox... i was thinking about getting the duet (i hear it sounds just as good as the ensemble). Would that make a significant difference? Are there any better

Obviously a real amp would sound better but it isn't possible because i'm recording in my apartment.

I'm also mixing on computer speakers so i'm sure that's part of the problem as well.

let me know what you think. any feedback would be great.

I'll be honest, I've never really liked Amplitube for the heavy kind of music...

the kick is a bit too boomy for my taste too and it makes my speakers sound kinda weird... do you have a lot of compression on the drum track or on the master track?

the song is good, tho, very melodic!

wow, i realized that my sub was turned all the way down.... which would explain why the low end sounded so fucked up... anyway, i updated the links with new mixes with some programmed bass added (sounds surprisingly decent) and with the low end sounding a bit better... i'm still having trouble getting clarity in the bass and kick drum though

I thought I was actually going to be rating bitches.

Now that I'm disappointed...I'll leave
