RATM - Are they still relevant?

Rage are excellent tbh. Politically I think they became more relevant as they toned down slightly (from really ridiculous lyrics on the debut to stuff like Testify, which was disturbingly relevant tbh). That said, no, they won't cause any major political change or anything but they do fucking rock. The last 9 years have provided plenty of inspiration, so it would be nice if they'd come back with a new album and rock out some more.

As to those who hate them, I simply don't understand why, but fuck you guys.

Fuck you too, babes. <3

Why is this thread still going? Rage is still relevant, and they're fucking awesome. There's nothing to debate. They're not metal, so don't even start that argument. They're just badass fucking hard rock, and they fucking groove. They wipe their ass with a lot of music being made today.

They suck, babes. <3

THe guitar players new band just played the Lark Fest in Albany. I only caught the last three songs but the second to last was a AC/DC tune with different lyrics and the same noise "solo" as the previous song and the last song was a Arlo Gunthrie song with changed lyrics. So I wasnt really captivated.

I agree completely.

I think they're a great band, tbh. They've always been relevant, just listen to one of their albums.

RATM is one of the best examples of a band I tried so hard to listen to, but just wound up not being able to because no matter how good the music was, the bullshit that comprised their lyrics almost always ruined it.

Then don't pay attention the lyrics. Morello is a great guitarist. He pretty much makes the band.
