I rolled off at 600hz, cut at 900hzish area, added a high shelf from 2000hz up and sent to a bus comp thats all I did to mine.

All natural + augmented snare. You'd be surprised to know how much the original snare sounds in the blend.
Cheers!
why is the samples zip over 300MB :s
Got a question also: How to filter the overheads? Right now all overheads have so much bleed, from each other and they pick up toms, snare etc. Enlighten me, please
well....that's real drums
actually you'll find that quite often you'll have even more bleed than on these files.
Hi Lasse, thanks for the answer So it's just something I have to live with then, hehe.
(BTW a friend of mine has recorded in your studio, great endresult! Wichita Falls. Really nice lowend in the mix, if only my basses sounded so good )
here is my mix of the drums

i did use slate durms 3.0 on this + original drums all over the kit
opinions are welcome!
Ok, here's my attempt, used samples on all kit pieces (yes I know it's boring lol).

Just about finished a mix with the acoustic tracks blended in.
Sounds very flat to me, very dull and boxy.
Yeah, I'm not used to mixing drums not in a mix, as the snare reverb would be fine in a full mix. The Kick is the Tama Starclassic samples.

Here's my mix with the raw tracks and augmented with samples.
Do you mean the faderhead tama starclassic sample? That one rules!
EDIT: nevermind, I suspect you used the OTHER tama starclassic sample (the drier sounding one). Both sound great though.
What did you use on the Nile cover? I think I liked that drum mix of yours even better
