Monstrosity-BR.jpg

Finally replaced my lost Monstrosity discs. Plus for the horror fans in the crowd some of the new Shout Factory reissues on Blu-Ray.

PLEASE don't tell me about the movies, I haven't seen some of these in 20 years and thanks to my failing memory it's going to be like watching them for the first time again! :)

let me know how the Lost Society is. curious.

I think it's great! One of the best, if not the best (to me), of the whole new school Thrash movement. These guys get it.

Listen to the whole album here.

I want to get From Beyond and TerrorVision/Video Dead too. Spending all of my money of CDs though! I do have Repo Man (Criterion), Mad Max collection and Lifeforce on pre-order though :p I did see TerrorVision somewhat recently on Netflix (after not seeing it since the '80s) and man... Goofy!! haha, then again, I love that '80s cheese.

I just got all of them but the Video Dead one. Will pick that up in the near future. I'll be watching John Dies At The End tonight. I'm a sucker for Coscarelli weirdness. Scream Factory is one hell of a label and they have some really great shit coming out.

Lost Society is the cherry on the ice cream, so to speak. The culmination of every single 'new' thrash band you've ever heard summed up in one single album. Nothing new here at all, but performed with conviction. Nuclear Blast knows that this is as good as it will ever get, and have signed a band as if to be groomed for this mission, alone. High top sneakers, stretch jeans, and Kreator t-shirts have taken precedence over integrity, class, and originality. Where are the Realm's, Cyclone Temple's, Coroner's and Holy Terror's of today's thrash 'movement'? Bands that actually push the style into new, and interesting territories? Personally, I have not heard a single one. to sum it up, if you want to buy yet another perfectly executed and produced thrash album, that you won't remember a single riff, melody, or drum part of as soon as it's done playing, by all means get it.

Had to go to Charlotte today to pick up some CDs at the plant. Stopped by Manifest and it was 30% off used stuff. The CM/Inside Out stuff is from an order I placed that arrived as well. Scored RIOT The Privilege Of Power on LP too.

When I was stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta I used to go to a Manifest store in Columbia, SC. Wonder if they are owned by the same people. It was the best music store I have ever seen.

I used to go to Columbia Manifest every time we played there which was twice a year for about 5 years. Loved that place. Not sure if its even still open. I know the Charlotte one was in trouble and FYE stepped in.

I last checked the Columbia store in 2008. It used to have a great selection of metal, but I came out empty handed that day. I haven't been back since.

Assuming Matt left anything behind, I hope to find something worthwhile at the Charlotte store later this month.

I was there just 3 weeks ago and this stuff wasn't there. so the turnover is getting better.

Oh man, disagree completely! You did just describe Municipal Waste with that bit though :tickled:

Anyway:

Haha. Yes, I guess I did. The thing is, back in 2002-2003, when all these bands started popping up, playing the style again, it was kinda cool. Just the fact that they were trying to bring back the thrash. The novelty wore off quick, for me, as soon as I realized no one was bringing anything new to it. I do like a lot of these bands, but damn I just wish someone would put something different in there...
