Recent CD buys

I finally am getting caught up on some recent releases, along with a classic:

Destruction - Spiritual Genocide
Dio - Holy Diver
Enforcer - Death By Fire
Lost Society - Fast Loud Death
Saxon - Sacrifice

been awhile but here are some recent acquisitions:

zaxas - zaxas
Kreator - Extreme Aggression
BOC - Heaven Forbid

from SACD:

Warpipes - Holes in the Heavens
Deep Purple - The House of Blue Light
3 Inches of Blood - Advance and Vanquish
Asia - Alpha

I'll say one thing for that Lost Society band. That guitar player has a pretty unique style. Saves the band, for me. His playing reminds me of Bumblefoot, who is awesome.

Yeah their guitar player is great. There is one song that has a full-on blues solo played around 200 BPM which sounds nuts. I'd never heard anything like it before.

Where can I find this for sale online? I've owned and enjoyed Fit for Fight for many years, but it's the only one I've ever heard. How does the rest of the box set compare?

Matt

I think its an awesome set. I've had the 4LP box set since it was release over a year ago. This has all the same songs as the lp set but adds a bonus DVD thats Live in Eindohevn, in 87 i think. I havent watched the dvd yet though so i have no clue how that is.

As for the music, it is everything that Witch Cross ever recorded in the studio. And the box itself looks killer, very cool.

And essential box set for all true heavy metallers. And its only $33 plus shipping so its a good deal.

The title track "Fast Loud Death". Did I mention how much I love this kid's guitar tone? It's definitely NOT the typical 'let's A/B to the "Speak English Or Die" album' guitar sound that most thrash bands go for. Funny you mention Blues because that's exactly what I thought about his playing and tone. Almost not even Metal, it's so 'Bluesy'. If it wasn't for this kid, I would have tossed this one! Or given it to Matt. Matt likes everything, haha. -jk-

These Southworld Records reissues are new 2012 re-masters, and sound the best, to me, after comparing to both the 1988/1990 Sony Music originals, plus the 2003(?) Metal Works reissues. Packaging and layout is pro as well. I got these on Amazon for less than $10, brand new. So, they're easy to get in the U.S. even though they have a U.K. distributor, Plastichead.

My most recent acquisitions are

Fear Factory - The Industrialist
Amorphis - Eclipse
Engel - Blood of Saints
In Flames - Whoracle
Amaranthe - The Nexus
