Recommend me a synth for epic 80s cheez

If you want those fat analog 80's pad sounds, you always have Synth1:

the visual kei crap is just weird, and I usually don't even like the music that much (too rock, not enough METULZ)

What do you mean? :err: (edit: I put some photos to compliment the videos)

And then there is the not-so-visual-kei: Maximum The Hormone

Thanks guys, great stuff!

Basically a synth-sampler with all the great patches ready to go, with not much room to tweak them. Really cool if you're writing, or just want the sound right there, with a minimum of fuss. Since many of us are guitar nuts rather than oscillator/envelope/fucked up audio tech geek shit nuts it can be a really cool thing. Not to mention it lets them virtually 'nail' the sounds.

This nails it to a T (synths are the only things I'll use presets for :D), and I'm seeing Nexus for $350 here Sopulurn, which is steep but not insane (though certainly out of the question at present) - experimentation time!

Yeah, that's the price, but if you want addons later they cost a LOT.

not that you need them, especially for teh cheez, but I'd get the orchestral thingy it has. I once heard someone play around with it and even though the sounds were out-of-the-box polished it sounded pretty amazing.

I'd probably buy Nexus too if I had the money to spare, I would indeed.

Nexus it´s the best synth I know, it´s fucking awesome. But is true that more than 60/70% of the sounds it´s for electronic stuff. But it has great shit, as the pianos, strings and pads. Some pads are really good.

Here it´s a metal trak with nexus

All the pianos, strings, brass it´s from nexus. Some of the sounds are from orchestral expansion. Ok, the track doesnt have the 80´s synths but you can hear the quality of the nexus.
