Heard a few goods bands due to Vibrations of Doom, but interested in getting some good bands.

Also, where should one start with Revered Bizarre? The songs I've heard I really like.

I tend to prefer traditional doom over the really slow sludge/funeral doom.

I would start with In The Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend, easily their best in my opinion.

I'm not sure how much you know, so apologies for assuming the least.

in the vein of epic doom metal like early Candlemass you could do worse than check out

Memory Garden - Tides
While Heaven Wept - Of Empires Forlorn
Forsaken (Malta) - Dominaeon
Scald - Will of the Gods is Great Power
Pik - Heritage of False Gods
Gods Tower - The Turns

If you're really new to this I wouldn't suggest getting more than one record by each of the bands Necuratul was kind to suggest above and see how you like these before going forward with discographies etc. If you haven't listened to the first Trouble, the first Candlemass and naturally Melissa by Mercyful Fate (which is not doom metal by any stretch but a tremendous influence), you might have some trouble understanding some of the key aesthetics of the follower bands. So yeah, start there.

When you are versed in the known stuff then I can recommend oddities like the Nigro Mantia or The Mezmerist demos.

Thanks Necurtal:

I've listened to Saint Vitus, Pentagram, Candlemass, Solitude Aeternus, Gates of Slumber (though not an album yet, going to buy their new one), and Witchcraft (love this band, not suer why I haven't made it out to one of their shows yet, I gave them a rave review). And I like all of these. I really ought to spend more time with each, as when I listened to them before, each album was a one and done type of thing, just in a major search to see what I liked. But time to really focus on them to get the most out of them.

I'll also check out these other bands you mentioned.
