Recommend me some ...

I second the vote for Massive Attack's, Mezzanine. You might want to add some tracks from Protection and make a nice mix CD.

If you can find it, Isabel Bayrakdarian's Joyous Light is brilliant. She's a (drop dead gorgeous) soprano opera singer. I hate opera, but her album is transcendent. Howard Shore used her for a track on the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers soundtrack.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many of the 4AD label acts fit the bill:

Dead Can Dance--The Serpent's Egg
Cocteau Twins--Treasure, Victorialand, or a collection of singles.
This Mortal Coil--Filligree and Shadow

These are absolute must-have classics from the 80s that just don't get played anywhere, not even on XM.

Profanity,

I don't know if that was to me, but the song names I posted are on an album called "Worlds Beyond the Veil" by an English death-metal band called Mithras (www.mithras.org.uk). You should check them out.
Yeah, complex death metal is EXACTLY what the guy after to help him fall asleep.
