So im looking for some new bands playing melodic death, my favorite from this genre are of course Amon Amarth, old Sonic Syndicate, The Unguided...just something really heavy, Eden Fire from Sonic was imho the best melodic death album. Im also listening bands like devildriver, slipknot, august burns red, bfmv, eluveitie, metallica, hammerfall, trivium, scar symmetry, in flames...I just want something new but i dont know what to try. It should have harsh vocals, for example Dead by April have awesome music but vocals are too clean for me...Thanks for any suggestions.

The Absence - Riders Of The Plague
Arch Enemy - Burning Bridges
At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul
The Black Dahlia Murder - Unhallowed
Dark Tranquillity - Skydancer
Dark Tranquillity - Fiction
Dimension Zero - This Is Hell
Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream
Dissection - Reinkaos
Kataklysm - In The Arms Of Devastation
Kreator - Enemy Of God
Paths Of Possession - Promises In Blood
Sacrilege - Lost In The Beauty You Slay
Shadow - Shadow
Skeletonwitch - Beyond The Permafrost

and while you're at it try Rotting Christ - Non Serviam

try
Engel
Blinded Colony
MyGrain
Eternal Tears of Sorrow
Degradead
Before the Dawn
Dawn of Solace

Something that is not melodeath but I think you'll like

Killswitch Engage - almost all their albums are at the same lvl
All That Remains - The Falls of ideas / For We Are Many
Opeth ( progressive metal/death one of the best swedish bands) - Blackwater park/ Watershed

thanks guys for the tips :) now i just have to find some time to try everything...btw just heard only 3 songs from Insomnium, but they are fucking awesome!
