This morning my wife was listening to Nickel Creek and I prepared to tolerate some bluegrass for awhile. Then this song came on and it was all about love, weeping, and death. It got better (and darker) the more I listened to it. It has all the elements of a good British Romantic story...as well as a good Opeth tune. Keep in mind that Opeth (and similar bands) borrow much, whether intentional or not, from the romantics. The song is called "House Carpenter" and I highly recommend a couple of listens. Nickel Creek are extremely good at what they do and are very accomplished musicians. They are produced by Alison Krauss who's bluegrass is very creepy and dark in it's own right.
I'd like to hear some opinions if you got 'em......

PS: I'm not recommending the rest of the album to you, although it's worth a listen if you're into expanding your musical horizons and influences. I happen to find it boring.....

thanks for asking. a few years ago my buddy and i were unemployed, living at our parents, and all we did was play sports, video games and drink beer. my girlfriend, who lived on her own and worked all the time said, "your life is like dorian gray's. you just lounge around and do whatever you want." i always thought that was funny so it just stuck. i also happen to really like british literature from the romantic period. just so noone thinks im a total loser, that phase only lasted the few post-college months that closely resemble a social limbo. i DID move out of my parents house. i really enjoyed not having any responsibility though. i recommend it to all. i like your nickname....
