Did anybody know that "Nevermore, In Memory, and The Politics of Ecstasy" are being remastered for release on 6/27 according to amazon.com and century media!
Chromatose said:Just as long as there's no bonus tracks *shakes fist at bonus tracks*
derek said:I agree.
Thus there is now a "Derek's/Derick's against Bonus tracks alliance!" D.A.B.T.A, if you will.
Chromatose said:Oh damn right, Bonus tracks in all shapes and forms are a scourge upon the world!!
I tend to be a little more lenient, basically ambivalent in most cases, when it comes to remastered versions of albums that put the bonus tracks on a 2nd disc, but really, I would hardly ever listen to that disc, so it's just a waste of precious delicious aluminum .
Edit: I realized I have some exceptions to the rule. Essentially when an album is rereleased as "The complete ____ Sessions" it is VERY worthwhile. i.e. Miles Davis and Henry Rollins.

i think they are lame...
and those records dont need remasters thanks...
derek said:Well, I'd tend to make an exception for anything Miles Davis related, even if it included a record than can only be played after taking a three week course of Suppositories.
Chromatose said:99% of the time it is something of lesser quality tacked onto the end, like live tracks and demos. Seriously fucks up the flow. B-sides? Yeah they were tossed out to begin with for a reason.
Maybe if I listened to commercially marketed albums where this isn't taken into consideration, it wouldn't be such a big deal.
