Did anybody know that "Nevermore, In Memory, and The Politics of Ecstasy" are being remastered for release on 6/27 according to amazon.com and century media!

Just as long as there's no bonus tracks *shakes fist at bonus tracks*

I agree.

Thus there is now a "Derek's/Derick's against Bonus tracks alliance!" D.A.B.T.A, if you will.

Aww damnit now im gonna trip out when im high and listening to them cause I'll think to myself damn what if im missing out on the remastered version so ill download and burn them but it wont be the same cause the image in my head will be the silver burned cd and not the cover art.

Oh damn right, Bonus tracks in all shapes and forms are a scourge upon the world!!

I tend to be a little more lenient, basically ambivalent in most cases, when it comes to remastered versions of albums that put the bonus tracks on a 2nd disc, but really, I would hardly ever listen to that disc, so it's just a waste of precious delicious aluminum .

Edit: I realized I have some exceptions to the rule. Essentially when an album is rereleased as "The complete ____ Sessions" it is VERY worthwhile. i.e. Miles Davis and Henry Rollins.

Well, I'd tend to make an exception for anything Miles Davis related, even if it included a record than can only be played after taking a three week course of Suppositories.

i would like to join the legions of Dericks Against Bonus Tracks even though my name isnt Derick...
i think they are lame...
and those records dont need remasters thanks...

Yeah, that 'special edition' of Bitches Brew was totally worth the rectal pretreatment.

99% of the time it is something of lesser quality tacked onto the end, like live tracks and demos. Seriously fucks up the flow. B-sides? Yeah they were tossed out to begin with for a reason.

Maybe if I listened to commercially marketed albums where this isn't taken into consideration, it wouldn't be such a big deal.

Actually... you're right.
99% of the times its lame bands who "remaster" it by converting it to MP3s
and then the quality is soooo bad.......
