I just signed up for this. $19 a month for unlimited calls/texts/data. The phone is not top of the line, but the price is a fraction of the major providers and still beats Boost and Cricket too.

The way this works is that they rely on wifi rather than cellular connections for the majority of usage. For anyone in an urban area, this makes tons of sense. But it seems like anyone can sign on regardless, and they use the Sprint cell network.

I have a hunch that this company is being backed by Google because they'd like to erode the major telecom companies in a subtle way. I'm fine with this, as Google provides tons of amazing things for free.

There's a newer better phone in November. But if you want a cheaper, functional phone soon, sign through here to get $19 off. http://referrals.republicwireless.com/a/clk/1LlVgd

I don't even use a mobile phone all that much. Sometimes when I hear it ringing and I'm in a mood I pick it up but I don't even know where it is now tbh.

My phone can barely run videos these days. Fortunately, I live alone, so when I gotta bust a nut, I just drop my trousers, close the blinds, and get violent with my body.

Sometimes I think I'm the only guy in cali without a smartphone. I'd want one for the GPS, but that's about it. It's too sad to see how absorbed people have become in the cellular world.

I was motivated to sign up for this because my prior dumbphone died, and I haven't had any cellphone at all for more than three weeks now. It's been interesting, and mostly not that bad. I only have been annoyed by trying to coordinate plans with friends on the fly, and figuring out what time it is. So 95% of the time it hasn't been bad, mainly since I am on the internet at home and work all day anyway.

My mom still doesn't have a cellphone, and I'd imagine many people 65 and up still don't.
