Reverb on drums for a slow paced guitar rock balad?

Hi fellows!

I've been using the same drums configuration on all our songs, and worked fine, but I'm working right now on the 'slow-balad-rock-song' and the drums sounds VERY dry. I've been trying different reverb types and setups, but I cant get the right ambience that usually have this type of songs.

Can someone give me any tip of what type of reverb and configuration usually works here?

Thanks in advance, cheers!
Niko.

Hi Sloan,

I've done that, but the problem comes trying to find a good reverb for this type of songs. I have all the tracks (even the kick) routed to a FX channel with the reverb on it.

use one reverb whit really short decay this will make lots of things seem more big.. try to match it whit the tempo of the song , and use another one more large to make the ambiance in conjunction whit the room verbs as Arv suggested.

For the classic 80s ballad snare, side chain a gate/compressor AFTER the reverb with a side chain input off the kick so the kick cuts off the big tail of the snare.
Epic.
