Riot - Thundersteel lineup reunion?

Listening to Privilege of Power at the moment (classic) and just wondered if this reunion is still on. Anyone heard anything? If Tony's still reading this forum, drop a comment or something. :)

I know Bobby Jarzombek's been busy lately touring with Sebastian Bach.

Not a single line. Still wondering if it's going on or not. Also wondering what happened with Pete Perez.

How come, with Riot's site being so informative as always...not.

I reckon a player of his skills shouldn't be unemployed for long... Too bad though, I know this is supposed to be a Thundersteel lineup reunited, but Pete's bass lines are out of this world.

Pete Perez? :kickass: + :puke: = drunk! A nice guy Pete.

I got not information at all but I guess they were hoping good offers but unfortunately I´m sure there isn´t too much interest in RIOT, besides Savatage best metal band ever :headbang::worship:.

Maybe in Europe but they played last year here in Spain and more or less 100 people in each show. Promoter from that gigs is friend of mine and he lost a lot of money. After a few months Riot manager offered again the band with "Thundersteel" line up and promotor answered: "Why didn´t you tell me that a few months ago? Now, in a million years".

That´s a pity. I think I´ll never listen live "Bloodstreets" :erk:

Damn, they really could use some competent management... :erk:

Hey, All,

The full 1988 Riot lineup has just confirmed to perform at Sweden Rock next June '09.
See you there as I scream some of your faves as well as some new tunes from the upcoming album.

Check out <http://riot8808.com/> soon for more...

Cheers!

TM

Congrats Tony (and the rest of Riot), Sweden Rock is a festival I wish I could attend, really a monster one. As for the upcoming album, we can't wait anymore!

Damn, a trip to Sweden Rock sounds like a great idea right now. Never seen Riot with any lineup and never been to Sweden Rock either so this would be perfect. SRF's had incredible band rosters in recent years and no doubt next year as well. Just not a big fan of these "camping" style festivals but eh... hygiene is overrated anyway.

Any estimate on when the new album will be out, Tony? Spring/summer/fall 2009?

And to top all that, again a totally out of date design that looks as if someone turned FrontPage on for the first time. The center frame hides half the content in all browsers except for IE and when I try to open it in IE it reports an error and shuts down. Totally unusable...

Let's hope is a sign the band is making its gear rolling including a redesign of the website maybe a new webmaster, who knows but let's pray for the best to come:zombie:

Take your time, just get over here already and do a proper tour! :headbang:
And since you're here, could you talk with the guys about Riot's site? To be frank, it's one of the most confusing and ugliest sites I've seen anywhere, not to mention that horrible "design". I think that a band of Riot's qualities deserves a matching site...

Can't wait for the gig! :kickass:

Really I like the web site and it works fine on my pc, very easy to move around on. Maybe its your pc thats not making it look right. I know its made for 800x600 screen and not others because I have tryed it in different ones and it looks strange.

If you are having problems with the site just send them an email telling them about you problems, I`m sure they will help you. I love the new look much better and its up to date in my mind. I like the new music player they have added finally.

I keep seeing these rumors about Riot's 1988 lineup reuniting next year for the 20th anniversary of Thundersteel, that would be Moore/Reale/Flyntz/Van Stavern/Jarzombek.
Riot's website is a joke but there's some mention of an upcoming announcement. Anyone know for sure?

This would be quite cool and even logical now that DiMeo's lost and gone forever. Hope they'll do an album as well and not just some random shows.

Why is it a Joke?

Wish they found a decent webmaster finally! What's left to say about a guy who proudly says that Riot doesn't have an official MySpace page...:erk:

Why do you need a myspace other then getting allot of spam and it takes sooooo long to load because everyone has left images, videos etc... playing all together. I like to read about someone not hear music playing when I`m trying to know more about the band.

Bands just find it easy to have a myspace so they dont have to script it all them self if they even know how. myspace is just one big essay button and its free with ads all over it. I hate ads!! Besides its cheap now for your own server. Get with the times.

Its cool for networking that’s about it, but that’s why you have a fan mail list I thought?

How come, with Riot's site being so informative as always...not.

Did you ever think that the webmaster can’t speak his own mind and has to wait for information from the band to post anything. If they have nothing for him to post then thats why we are in the dark. I have meet him and he is VERY nice person and he pays for everything on the web and if we had not had this for all these years now we would not know anything about what’s going on.

I thank him for trying his best in keeping us informed that’s for sure!! No need to bash someone that helps
a great band we all LOVE.

Welcome to the forum. Please next time try to put all your thoughts in a single post instead of 5 post in a row, this isn't a race.

And don't take all too personally what the regulars post, we all love Riot and just want the best coming out of the last line-up change.

As for the website it was ment to be someday, after all Riot is Mark's child, so why not call the site by his name? Yes from the designing point is a bit crowded and the news section (which is what most fans look for) is not clearly available, but today there are plenty of other recources to find info about a band. No need to get hot because of that here.

Because it's a fantastic promotional tool and gets your music out to many who might have never heard it. For a band like Final Stage, we'd have nowhere near the success we do without MySpace.

But yes, the spam is annoying as hell, along with the ads.
