5 years ago today, I saw Slayer/Mastodon/Killswitch Engage/Hemlock in Billings, MT. Slayer stopped abruptly, came out after ~15 minutes and did 2 more songs. Kerry left a shot on the stage. Chad from Hemlock was out in the lobby saying "Oh fuck, I just heard Dime was shot". I didn't believe him: I said "why would someone say ...some shit like that?" Finding out it was true was really horrible.

My band is playing this Saturday at a local mini-fest dubbed "DIMESTOCK". We're playing War Nerve, Slaughtered, and possibly Domination (we play that pretty often, we have it as a backup in case we end up with more time for our set).

Let's not forget the 3 heroes that died trying to save Dime: Erin Halk, Nathan Bray, and Jeff Thompson. True heroes that took action and gave their lives trying to save the lives of others, and also Officer Niggemeyer who ended the carnage that night.
