We heard him sing Sleepless, and no, that's not something most of us would like to hear.
Times changed, so did Anathema. Vinnie does the vocals pretty well nowadays, Darren used to do them well in the past.

As for the thing with Oasis, hmmm, well, i actually like only few of their songs, never really thought about them. But what i heard in daily press is not what i like about a band. They had been more in press cause of some quarrels with Blur (!?) methinks than with their music. I heard in the past, they wanted to get bigger than the beatles, and it seems as if they tried to do this with the same devices. Please correct me if this isn't true, because i'm not really into them, maybe its just a delusion from press or whatever, but this wouldn't be my opinion to make music; to outmatch another band or to replace them, or whatever, i hope you understand what i mean and not get it wrong.

Big record labels, publicists etc etc etc.. it's a lot more than just being judged on your music. We all know this eh?

still... many bands quit although they were pretty good, but they didn't get enough support, and I just think that's crap. And the labels pretty much only care about bands that sell well... e.g. Nuclear Blast - they have signed everything - some okay bands though - I guess they themselves don't even know anymore how many bands they've got---
and I barely buy CDs anyway...

Well if they only quit because they relied on a label for support than thats pretty shit. There are loads of ways to get your music out there these days. Its easier than ever before now with MP3s and that. The problem is that most bands jump at the chance to sign to any label and dont know a thing about how it all works. I'd love to see more bands set up their own labels and that and get networking with other bands but I know so many musicians who are more interested in getting their photos in mags etc..
Im sticking to me guns anyway
