No idea why, but I feel a need to start such a thread, amazing when an album you've owned for years and years can still get you way excited about it, as far as :headbang: goes, nothing beats this for me. Even though every single Anathema and Antimatter album since then all in all beats it, this is an awesomely rocking album, and I'm excited about it today. Are you rocking along?
 
i always thought darren's vocals would suit enigma better. pentecost was great and his voice matches the heavy guitars more than vincent's. ah well...
 
I can say too that I don't like Vincent's voice on Silent Enigma that much. In fact I think that this album would deserve to be re-recorded, like eternity in fact. I love the songs, I love the feeling, but it's sometimes a little bit messy.
 
Vincent's roaring voice is great on The Silent Enigma, it's the best doom album deffo fer me. all the tracks are excellent, I like each and every one of them.

Besides tracks 5 and 6, it's one of the best doom metal albums ever. The atmosphere is ... ermmm ... Let"s say FREEZING. I have a custom : Everytime it snows, I listen to TSE, fits this kind of weather perfectly !

The same for me. I got the CD on a snowy day in December ´96 and yes... It is an snow album... Something like emotional winter...
 
still, think of it with darren's voice. it would be better. you can tell the music is written to fit his vocals... vincent isn't really "singing" anyway.

hm cedar ive always thought the same thing,about 5 and 6.the skip finger is always ready when they appear.its probably owned to the fact that the others are so damn good,i dunno.i confess that i skip a dying wish many times tooo:oops: :gay icon:

Yes, Shroud Of Frost... I had dreams in which I wandered around, looking outside of the window... snow, winter... It was summer actually... The most depressing song... These lyrics describe the feeling I had some years ago. The absolute depression...:ill:


I don´t think that these lyrics were written by the band. There were these two friends of Duncan, when I recall something in the correct way I read on Sopel´s Anathema-page.

Don't be ashamed to claim that Cerulean Twilight and Nocturnal Emission are WEAK TRACKS !!!
But I don't think the same about ADW :p
