Rockstar - Supernova revisited

ha, I heard that too! And was suprised it wasn't mentioned. I supposed she played it off well. Although the lyrics of that song are so well known, it was hard to miss.

I also thought it was kinda funny that more than one blamed their 'less than perfect' performance on the rough night in Vegas. But, um, tell me if I'm wrong here but.....isn't that the rock n roll lifestyle? If you can't handle partying with the boys for one night in Vegas, how the hell do they plan to hang on the road? If they can't party and perform....don't party. Otherwise, suck it up and make no excuses.

I agree 100%, but lets face it, those contestants aren't what I think of when I think of hard rock/metal. The majority of the guys look like a bunch of fraternity punks, with the exception of the Billy Idol wannabe (Lucas). As for the girls, they all look like they're trying too hard to be tough, with the exception Dilana. I think she just had a mundane performance that night. I still say she's the only one I could take halfway serious fronting Supernova.

Magius, I was wondering if I was the only one to notice her singing 'cats in the cradle and the silver moon, little boy blue and the man on the moon'

WOW. I missed that too, probably cuz I was singing along. I did notice she also made the same mistake Ugly Kid Joe did when they covered the song. The first 2 choruses go "When you're coming home DAD, I dont know when. We'll get together then, DAD" not "SON" as it's the son, who wishes he could spend time with his father, that's talking. The roles are reversed by the third chorus as now it's the father talking and he realizes the son he neglected doesn't have any time for him now.

Still, I liked her vocals and think she's by far the only choice to win this. I'm also in the minority here as I loved the new Supernova song. Good, catchy, fun, instantly accessible old-school melodic hard rock!

Yeah that was 1 blunder. In addition to the siver "moon" in the second chorus she sang "when you coming home Son?" in the 1st and 2nd chorus. The line is "when you coming home Dad?" until the 3rd chorus when the roles are reversed.

Ooops. I should have kept reading before my previous post. You DID catch that one too.

Well it should be

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when,
But we'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

Storm - Poser alert, poser alert! Any true music fan can see she is in it just to be on camera.

But a true music fan will also notice that she's up and singing along to every song (except the Spanish one) while her competition is performing. She's the first one cheering them on. Class IMO.

Poser? A poser is someone who stands in the back of the venue and claims they can do it better/faster etc. And as far as posing/primping goes.. they all should be doing it. 2 of the guys on that stage helped invent image in rock n roll in their heydays.

I liked Ryan's song. Jill's song was alright. By I still think she'll be the one to go this week.

I still don't like Dilana.

Toby and Magni were good. The rest were kind of.. so-so.

The best performance of the night went to Ryan Star, by far. Dilana still has that something that I think will get her a huge contract with or without winning..

Toby is to samey, he will not win. I think Lukas will not win either now. Its between Magni,Dilana and Ryan.

Storm and or Patrice will go home tonight

Patrice's song was not bad, her voice was though. I am tired of the same crap week after week from Toby and Lucas. I did not think that Dilana did all that great either this week but will still be around.
the best three:
1] RYAN best performance of the week hands down
2] Magni
3] Storm

Ryan's performance was the best, but that's not saying a whole lot either! The song was just lame! I'm totally bored with this show now, so at this point, I really don't care who wins. If I hear one more Nirvana song, I think I'm going to :puke: ! :zombie:

They should force somebody to do 'Thriller.'

Heck, I'd love to hear Ryan do some Metallica.

I think they need to be playing some uptempo songs that will more closely resemble what Supernova will play. I am tired of the Nirvana songs too

So it was finally Patrice's time...

...but what the hell was up with Dilana? :OMG: :OMG: :OMG: :OMG: :OMG:

I have been a fan of hers since the start of the show, but the comments and attitude she displayed tonight were quite shocking. I thought that perhaps it was the editing of the pieces that made it worse than it was, but then when given the opportunity, she didn't even defend herself well!

With that being said, I still hate Lukas more.

So, just how bad will this affect Dilana... I thought she was the odds-on favorite until tonight. Any wagers on whether she'll land in the bottom three next week, or will the American public forgive and forget?

Ya know Dilana's comments rubbed me the wrong way too... The interview confessional of her peers in the house was a BIG NO NO... As soon as she opened her mouth (for once Lukas showed some smarts on this) I said 'ah shit'...

Yep she can sing, but I have no doubt the SN boys are watching every little thing off the stage too... Hell look at who they played with before...

And I bet ya voters of the show will let her know...

I still dont; know how Lucas was not in the bottom 3. Sorry to see Patrice go but honestly how did she make it this long?

Yeah, Ms. D might have shot herself in the foot for opening that big mouth of hers!

As for the Supernova song last night, I'm not a musician by any stretch, but couldn't any garage band make up songs like that? I thought the song was mundane and we've all heard it played on the radio a million times! The way the guys talk you'd think their sound was all heavy and everything, but I think it sounds wimpy!

Am I being too hard on these guys or what?

Why have a guitarist like Gilby Clark, if he doesn't even play any lead. I could play those riffs. They don't even.. try to have a unique tone. I don't know, but they need to realize that while their songs are ok for alternative-rock stations, they aren't doing anything special.

Hell, I'm sorry but playing your song, and then having it followed up by Hendrix's "Fire", must hurt.

Though I totally dig Newsted's Lyle Lovett hair style >_>

My thoughts exactly, except for Newstead's hair. He needs to grow it long again and get back to playing decent metal!

Speaking of looks, I saw Jerry Cantrell guest appearing during a Heart concert the other night on tv. He looked awesome and the dude has a hell of a stage presence! Jerry looked pretty darned metal up there with his long hair, flyin' v guitar, and his leather jacket! :headbang:
