I got a Rocktron Prophesy a few weeks ago and am trying to get a good sound out of it. I've got the left and right recording outs from it going through a boss br-1200 multitracker and im listening to it on Alesis M1 520 active monitors.
Initially i thought it sounded awesome and it was certainly an upgrade from my JMP1 but now im just fine tuning my patches to try and get some professional sounds.
I used the preset artist patches(dave mustaine, rusty cooley etc) for a starting point but realised that they were a bit...gash
I don't know if its just my ears but i thought they were far too muddy(the gain was generally set to 9 or 10)
I've now reduced the gain to about 5 and it seems a bit better but i know the key to getting a good sound in these things is usually the preEQ and million other parameters on this thing.
So has anyone got any good advice/hints/patches?
