Rode Nt-5's test run

So i finally got to test out my Rode Nt-5's been experimenting with mic positions and found something i dig kit is real drums except the kick drum

Sm57 on the snare i5 on the toms Rode nt5 on the over heads some no name mic to pick the bass drum > Art Tubefire 8 Interface

sounds not bad but a little bit weird, like there is some phaser effect on it.
kick sound slike shit though

I love my NT5'S.

Very phasey, are you recording in a small room with no treatment by any chance? Overheads could really do with a high pass and some corrective eq in the highs (1 - 2khz) to get rid of that trashy sound?

Try recording a bottom mic on the snare and yea I am not liking the kick.

part my room part my eqing , the kick i set up like that because someone with my wanted it more scooped and dry so i did a bunch of crap to it .


I'm hoping to get some Sound treatment soon
