Now posting something a little more ontopic.
I do have quite a number of characters i am fond of, and did experienced something similar. While i didnt played the character enough to actually grow to like it in the way some of you do, i did put a lot of work into it and not only that, it came out as a very interesting character.
For the people who is familiarized with werewolf the apocalypse, I created a Metis Shadow Lord who was basically extremely proud and ashamed of his nonexistant lineage and the shame of his birth. He struggled to prove himself before everyone but he always knew he would never, ever be completly accepted ( I know he could, but the character didnt ).
I was very angry to lose it because some stupid players got into a player on player fight and the GM ( who is quite bad actually ) decided to just change chronicles and let our characters die. While i could do a similar character or use it with another gamemaster it just wouldnt be the same.
Im also worried about another character, a Vampire named Dimitrii Diaconescu Perez who i play on our vampire the masquerade sabbat chronicles. Im worried because i spended literally several days investigating the phsycological profile of several serial killers and trying to understand most of the terms, but because of the personality archetype and the background i wrote for my character, i had to create a very low powered character ( a 14th generation vampire who is plagued with something among the lines of 6 derrangements...and yes each one has a reason and/or a propose )
It hasnt died but it shurely will ( specially in the light of the light of the upcoming chronicles which involve gehenna )
