Look, I'm sorry to keep playing devil's advocate, but a chemical is a chemical is a chemical. LSD, a synthesized drug, has a lethal dose of tens of thousands of times the normal dosage. It is one of the least toxic drugs know to man. Datura, on the other hand, is an extremely dangerous deliriant-containing plant that can be consumed sans any kind of processing. It has a very steep dosage curve, meaning that any sort of intentional ingestion can easily result in a fatal overdose, as well as a nasty tendency to induce psychosis for the duration of the experience (days). I remember reading a news story a few years ago about a German student who cut off his tongue and dick after drinking a tea brewed from the stuff. The bottom line is that the natural vs. synthetic distinction, while appealing, is really a product of our personal bias rather than any sort of logic.lurch70 said:as long as your drug of choice is "natural" ... somewhat cominig from the earth ... My point is that natural vs. sythetic is not black vs. white.
