Eddie aka Stez, always did a great job whipping the crowd in to a can throwing frenzy with such classics as "Message in a bog roll" !

Perhaps we should have a Macc Lads thread? :worship:

Iced Earth is a great band, nothing against them. But Saxon opening for them???? That's like Black Sabbath opening for Cathedral:OMG:

SAXON headlined these same "clubs" also known as 300 - 600 people pubs last year and for the last 15 years. At least since 1988 Destiny they've been playing clubs pubs and small theaters in USA. It's a bummer that they now have to open for bands in these places. I'm sure from a business standpoint it costs a ton of loot to travel to America, hire tourbusses and hotels, pay the staff, drink, eat and drink. How do they make any money playing for 300 people as an opening act in a pub? I love SAXON and I will buy anything they publish and see all of their shows, but I wonder how it's done?

Memorial Day here in the states. FDNY heroes forever.

yes I love that those lyrics of Saxon.. its good for learning english in a nice way... for example in the song deeds of glory... I know synonyms for the word courageous...===> bold and valiant. My foreign english teacher didnt learn me such words, but Saxon did.. al because of the lyrics ...true fact

Well I'm Going to London and Wolverhampton too! Going with Peter Day! Even If Peter Does Know the Words he can't sing in tune! :loco:

Before the Amazing Saxon (Yes I did say that Peter!) Pete and I are going Bloodstock 04! Get along and Support Bloodstock! The UK's ONLY Metal Festival!

Wheels Of Steel! :headbang: :kickass: :headbang: :kickass:

Nice story, Heavycelli!
It's true that music can teach so much more than simply learning to play an instrument etc. I've been a freelance writer for some time now, and the influence of song lyrics have always helped me in adding colour to articles and such.
People tend to critisize, or wrinkle their nose, at genres such as Horror/Fantasy fiction and Rock music. But if it wasn't for these things, I would not be doing what I do now. Like you said, the teachers don't teach you everything! They can lay down the foundations, but you have to add your own charisma - through influences - to make your mark!
Saxon have always provided great lyrics. The band are very underated in this area. It will be interesting to see what Biff has to say on the new album.

Peter Boy, London Boy & Wilks -
I look forward to seeing you there! I can't wait!
It will be the first time I've seen the band live and really hope the guys are in a decent mood to Rock!
I think it's great timing - we are bound to hear a few new tracks from the new album!
I wonder who will be supporting? Blaze supported the last time when Saxon played at Wolves, but I'm hoping too much, aren't I? That would be a great warm up to Biff and the boys!
I will be getting to the gig quite early and going to 'The Little Civic' for a drink first.
I recently saw Marillion at the Civic, so if any of you Guys need directions or parking questions answered, let me know, OK? I will do my best to help!

Thank you Nightwar....I'm very interesting. You know when I have a new CD of Saxon in my hands I am always thinking..... will I listen first ?.. or...first read the lyrics..? On Killing Ground I first listened to the music and then the lyrics.., I could understand a lot without reading.. so it was quit clear sung..This time I will do it the other way round..., so first al the words with a dictionary..and then the text will give the music more power.. Its also nice to hear when the music(riffs, solo, bridge vocals etc..) do fit to the words of the song and the other way round.. And further maybe for this forum it would be nice wenn a Saxon-member (Writers or Co writer )can give an explanation to a certain lyric.. For Example the song ' Prisoner ' I would rather like to know how you can explain every sentence used in that song and the deeper meaning of it...and then the meaning of the writer.. so.. not my meaning, I have my own explenation of course.. but what is Biff Byfords meaning.. maybe he can give us the deeper explenation of (th)a(t) song ..just for one time ..should be great.. but of course that is my opinion. Maybe the webmaster can ask in his network.. thanx for that and further ..I never noticed but I was looking on the Link -section and I saw that link of that cover-artist Raymond Gregory..I never looked in it  (Wow what a nice pictures-covers of albums, maybe a good suggestion for the next competition.. for example the winner gets the original Lionheart-cover oil-painting, wouldnt that be a prize???? :loco: :Spin: )but in there ..there is a cover of the metalhead-album that was not used as you al know it became that also very nice cover of that same album (Always does me think of that Egypt-time and books of Erich von Daenicken, chariots of the Gods.. or auf Deutsch (in German) Waren die Goetter Kosmonauten, the art fits well to the content of the song metalhead m.o. Ive put a link to that cover that didnt make it.. question to you Saxon Metalheads which one do you prever the cover art that didnt make it, or the one that made it, very curious..its under the miscellany button
