Waaaaay back in the day when I was first really getting into the internet, I met Vehemence's old guitarist John, even before he ever joined the band. He was a big time internet socialite and we talked a lot. At one point right when he got the Vehemence gig, he sent me a version of what would later become "She Never Noticed Me" with just his guitar tracks and programmed drums. No vocals or keyboards or fancy mixing or anything. It was AMAZING. I was blown away by the entire thing. It's still the best version of that song I've ever heard. There was some drum stuff going on in that song that probably only the best drummers in the world could actually play but it was so great. I was bummed to hear the addition of keyboards and some "not as cool as the original" drum parts, but it's still my favorite Vehemence song ever. I wish I still had that early version. It got lost in a computer crash years and years ago
edit: That John dude talked to a lot of people and I'm sure I can't be the only person he sent that version to. I wonder if it'd be possible to dig it up somewhere...
