say something about ... yourself!

The new job is really stupid. The whole place is filthy, with glue traps set for their rodent problem. The break room looks like a dilapidated prison lunch room with broken chairs (the fast-food swivel kind). The bathroom....is not really gross, just weird. The soap dispenser requires you to crank soap out of a plastic barrel...wtf?

And on top of that, everyone there whom I've met is rude and cynical. Also, and I expected this, but whenever I venture out of the office to go to the bathroom or break room, I've got dirty old men (mechanics) staring at me. When I start nights, I will apparently be alone with all these guys for two nights a week.

AND I found out that I'll have to answer the phone a lot to answer questions about the status of repairs. Uh, that wasn't on the job description, people! I hate phones.

I don't plan on staying there very long, and I don't think they expect me to either heh.

Wow, that sounds like my work.

They even give me the slackjawed look... I think its my purty lips.
Also, is the soap the orange gritty kind?

eek, that pink soap dries your hands like no other... i hate it.

Sorry about the new place Cara... it sounds meh :/ But you are only doing this for a short period of time so
go there, make some $$$ and find something better!

5 months. I don't know if I can handle such a miserable place for five months. I keep imagining how quiet and creepy the break room will be at night, with rats running past and creepy old mechanics staring at me through the glass of the smoking-allowed break room next door.

My bowels are upset due to this.

The money is ok, for me. But no, it's not good :p

I almost feel like working tomorrow, quitting (my "week" will be over tomorrow), and marching into Macy's and asking for my last two paychecks that they never sent me. Oh god :ill:

I think you can get extra money for the delay in sending your checks. It varies state to state, but look it up. You quit Macy's a while ago, so you might be able to make hella monies off of it.

And I just got an awesome leather jacket at Goodwill. One of the sleeves has a rip that I'll have to disguise somehow, but for $30 it was worth it.

Hmm, well, I just emailed the Macy's Central HR office about it and let them know that I specifically requested in my resignation letter to have my last paycheck mailed to me.

Yay jacket! Perhaps a patch will fix it?

@ Isabel - Hmmm, well, I'm sure you'll think of something.

Ditto!

Ooh it sounds awesome! :). Also how big/serious is the tear and wear is it? This might sound completely ridiculous but I had a rip in a suede blazer (which sounds ugly, but it was actually pretty nice), and there was no way I could just sew it back together not only because my sewing skills aren't great but because it was more of a hole and because it would look obvious. So I cut the edges of the hole a little more and put a piece of fabric underneath, you know just patched it, and then sewed it so it looked intentional, and then made another tiny little "patch" on the other side so it looked as though it were made that way. But I don't know if that would work. I'll have to try to find the jacket so I can show you what I mean.

Good idea!
